The TGL indoor golf league is two months away from its launch. It recently released its format and rules. The Tiger Woods/Rory McIlroy-supported golf league will have six teams with three members. Also, the teams will play on a golf simulator for a season.
According to pay per head sportsbook experts, the TGL will have two seasons. Also, the first one is a three-on-three alternate-shot tournament with nine holes per game. In addition, the second season will be a one-on-one match played on six holes. However, players will play two holes each.
Similar to ice hockey, TGL’s season-long tournament will score matches using a specific methodology. Also, they will award two points for a victory in regulation or overtime, one point for an overtime loss, and zero points for a regulation defeat. After the regular season, the top four clubs will compete in the playoffs. Teams in the playoffs will go through a best-of-one semifinal and a best-of-three final.

Approximately the size of a football field, the venue will have both real and virtual features. Also, it features a 64×46-foot simulator screen for drives and a 97×50-yard playing area. They will use natural grass for chipping and putting, sand for approaches, and bunkers on the playing field. The green itself will measure 15 by 27 feet, and it will have jacks that can adjust the green’s gradient. Up to 1,600 fans can watch the action from within the arena.
Five of the six teams—in Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Boston, and San Francisco—have been purchased by new franchise owners. TGL is proud to include owners from the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NASCAR among its roster of franchise owners.
Justin Thomas, a former golfer for the University of Alabama, has been revealed as the first player picked by the Atlanta Drive GC. Woods, McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler, Tom Kim, and Max Homa are just some players who have already committed to participating in the league. There are 32 majors and 223 PGA Tour victories among TGL members, with Woods unsurprisingly accounting for a large portion of each statistic.
