Steve Kerr will step down from Team USA after the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The head coach of the Golden State Warriors said he plans to follow in the footsteps of his mentor, Gregg Popovich. The latter left Team USA after coaching one World Cup and Olympic tournament.

The Athletic reports that USA Basketball’s leadership has not yet begun discussing seriously which 12 players will make the Olympic roster. Although some veterans are eager to return to the Olympics, several members of last year’s World Cup squad feel they should be given an opportunity.
